Just Another Day

(Vest: Forever 21, Leather Jacket: AllSaints, Shirt: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target, Jeans: BDG, Boots: Nine West, Bag: Vintage, Headband: Urban Outfitters, Sunnies: Ray-Ban)

Hello, everyone! Just posting a quick outfit in the midst of juggling homework and watching the Grammys. This was a quick look I threw together for a day of classes. I started off with casual black skinny jeans and black ankle boots, which I paired with a green button-up. From there, I layered a beige fluffy vest atop a black leather jacket for added warmth and texture. I pulled out one of my favorite carpetbags to bring out the color in the outfit, threw on some of my favorite pieces of jewelry and my vintage Ray-Bans, and there you have it.

Triple Leather

(Leather Jacket: AllSaints, Shawl: Forever 21, Shirt: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target, Faux Leather Pants: H&M, Shoes: D&G, Scarf: Thrifted, Hat: Thrifted, Necklace: Doxahlogy)

I guess you could say this is my attempt at triple leather - leather jacket, leather pants, leather shoes. Not that I had intended to pile on the leather, but sometimes I tend to lose myself in the layering process. I recently scored this amazing AllSaints jacket at Unclaimed Baggage Center in Scottsboro, Alabama. I may or may not have mentioned Unclaimed before, I'm not completely sure, but if you've never heard of it, it's where all of the lost luggage (and all the treasures within) from all around the world is sent and resold for unbelievably incredible prices. Clothing, shoes, bags, electronics, and yes, suitcases... You name it. They have it all. It's a magical place, trust me. But anyway, back to the outfit... I paired the jacket with a white shirt I picked up at Target for the 3.1 Phillip Lim a few months ago. Over the shirt, I layered a blush shawl/kimono type deal and then added a chiffon scarf for extra texture and print. I'm quite a fan of black leather pants, and these from H&M have been my favorite so far. I liked them so much, I also picked them up in oxblood. My shoes... Or my mom's shoes, rather, are one of my favorite pieces in mom's and my closet combined. These D&G beauties she picked up quite a few years back in Rome, Italy. Italian shoes hand picked in Italy. Doesn't get much better than that. The star of this look, however, is this incredible necklace from Doxahlogy, that I was so kindly sent. The color of orange used for the pendant is absolutely stunning, and the quality of the piece is especially made apparent by its well-made chain and tassel. I can't wait to show you all how I style the other two pieces I was sent. In the mean time, have a lovely Monday night.

New Jewels

(Necklaces: Doxahlogy )

I recently received these three stunning necklaces from Doxahlogy. I fell absolutely in love with the antique feel of each of these pieces. It's often difficult to find jewelry that compliments my ongoing collection of antiques, but the aged color of gold used in these necklaces suit my pieces quite perfectly. Plus, the versatility of these necklaces allows them to be dressed up or dressed down. Stick around to see how I style each of these beautiful necklaces in upcoming outfit posts.

White as Snow

(Coat: Topshop, Dress: Think Closet, Vest: Thrifted, Bag: Lucky Brand, Boots: Target, Necklace: Antique, Watch: Fossil)

Two more incredible finds from my last trip to New York include this fluffy coat and floral corduroy dress. The coat really struck me because for 1, it's fluffy and warm, perfect for frigid winters, and 2, it's basically the exact same color as my hair... Which, in a way, is extremely odd (I often forget my hair is as white as it is), but also very cool.  The dress I picked up at an incredibly cute store in West Village called Think Closet. Every piece in the store was one-of-a-kind and vintage inspired. So when I ran across this adorable floral dress, I couldn't pass it up. I paired it with my denim vest to play up the vintage feel of the dress's fabric. As always, I couldn't finish an outfit without piling on some of my favorite pieces of jewelry.

2013

I believe it's safe to say 2013 was a pretty incredible year filled with some very special and exciting events. Honestly, I don't know any other way I'd rather start a year than having my style and blog featured in a fashion magazine, and Teen Vogue, at that. What an enormous honor. I know I've said it a million and three times, but thank you, thank you, thank you, Andrew Bevan! Then, there was being a part of the Jonas Brothers' "Pom Poms" music video. A real life, Vevo verified music video, not one I made on my pink Barbie video camera to a Spice Girls song at age seven in my bedroom... Because, yes, those do actually exist. Haha! Following shooting the video, I had the pleasure of visiting New Orleans, which has since become one of my favorite cities of all time. There's a very special place for the French Quarter and Cafe du Monde's heavenly beignets in my heart. I also traveled to Asheville, North Carolina, and visited the Biltmore. Really, there are no words to completely capture how visually fulfilling and marvelous the estate is. All I can say is, I never knew my chateau adoring dreams could ever come to life to the extent that they did the moment I beheld the enchanting home. In October, I had the ever so exciting opportunity of attending Teen Vogue's Fashion University in New York City. Fashion festivities and New York City all in one trip... What's not to love? Really, though, attending TVFU was such an incredible experience. To be given the honor of sitting in seminars and listening to fashion industry leaders, not to mention meeting so many other people who not only appreciate my interests, but also share them, was an experience I will forever hold dear. I count myself incredibly blessed to say so many wonderful things occurred in the past year, which created so many cherished memories. And so... As 2014 begins, I plan to embrace every moment of this next year with even more optimistic eyes than the last. I can't wait to see what excitement and adventure lies ahead. Let the good times roll.
